The Palacio Del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa was the first fortress in Belmonte. The Palacio Del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa was built to be a Venta Del Quijote to provide accommodation for travellers on the route.
Our location is not casual, Belmonte is one of the richest municipalities in heritage of the whole area and in the surroundings we have beautiful places that deserve to be known by all our visitors.
Commissioned by Don Juan Manuel in 1323 on a former Visigoth construction, it was the birthplace in 1419 of Don Juan Pacheco, first Marquis of Villena, who ordered the construction of the current Castillo De Belmonte.
The II Marquis de Villena, Don Diego López Pacheco, turned the building into a monastery in 1499, and therefore moved the Sisters of St. Catherine of Siena from Villa de la Alberca to Belmonte, where the palace remained until 1960.
Influenced by this historical facts, the Palacio Del Infante Don Juan Manuel Hotel Spa was born in Belmonte, Cuenca.
